The electromobility distinguishes itself by a large variety of different vehicles and mobility concepts. Work is going on in many places to find alternatives for the usual drive systems, from small bicycles to larger buses. Especially with regard to the light vehicles (e-bicycles, e-scooters, e-motorbikes) and also passenger cars represent a considerable potential.

E-mobility usually refers to vehicles, which take their primary energy supply from electricity, independent from whether they have an additional combustion engine to increase their range or are battery powered.

However, as long as the current mix of electricity in Germany is still mainly dominated by fossil energy carriers, the environmental balance for these vehicles is not much better than compared to the traditionally powered vehicles. It is therefore imperative that the electromobility is brought together with the renewable energies.
